Working Hours: minimum of 20 hours per week, between Monday to Sunday, with the opportunity to pick up additional hours at the managers discretion. The hours are to include a mixture of swimming lesson planning, admin and teaching.
Working at Calday Grange Swimming Pool Trust, the Swimming Co-ordinator will implement and control on-site administration, contributing to the operation and development of the Swimming Lesson programme and have responsibility for the safety and skill advancement of the pupils in your care.
On a day to day basis your duties will include, assist with objectives to increase the number of participants for the swimming lesson programme, deliver marketing materials (the use of social media and liaising with local primary schools to push school holiday lessons), with regards to current and forthcoming swimming lesson offers, input/update computerised swimming lesson booking system, assess Swim teachers to ensure compliance with teaching/administration processes, instruct individuals/groups in line with the Learn to Swim scheme for swimming or other aquatic activities, provide schemes of work and lesson plans and promote and support the swimming lesson scheme.
You will help in facilitating a safe, fun, and professional working environment with excellent training and development opportunities.
About you
For this role you will need to hold either a STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming or Swim England (Previously ASA) Level 2. and it's desirable but not essential that you hold a qualification in water safety/lifesaving - additional hours will be available if a National Pool lifeguard qualification is held.
You will have excellent customer service skills as you'll be interacting heavily with our customers and your team of Swimming Teachers. So, whether you've earned that experience in a leisure or another customer facing environment, you'll be a people person who is happy dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds.
A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Lastly, you will have good basic finance, IT, and clerical/administrative skills and extensive and up to date knowledge of current swim teaching practices and safety requirements for management of swimming lessons.
Key Responsibilities
:
Coordinate the delivery of swimming lessons to clients.
*Plan and execute payments from customers with deadlines given by the manager - this includes deposits to new and existing customers and full payments within two weeks of a new term commencing
Manage a team of swimming instructors, providing regular performance reviews and implementing staff development initiatives.
Foster a positive and collaborative environment, encouraging employee engagement and motivation.
Develop strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and feedback to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Oversee lesson scheduling and coordination, ensuring timely and well-executed sessions.
Develop strategies to attract new clients and grow the business through marketing (social media, emails etc).
*To provide an end of week update to the manager via email.
