Mer-Fin Swim Ltd is a private swim school based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

We provide low ratio swimming lessons, following the Swim England learn to swim pathway for children aged 2years +

Mer-Fin Swim Ltd pride ourselves on the quality of swimming lessons provided and a high level of customer service to parents.

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 new teachers to join our team, this post is also

open to those who do not yet hold a swim teaching qualification as we can include this as part of the position for the right candidate.

We are looking for:

Qualified level 2 Swim England swimming teachers or equivalent

Enthusiastic individual who has a passion for working with children and would like to train as a swimming teacher and work towards gaining their swim teaching qualifications with us

to join our team in

. Term time only (possibility to increase hours if desired and to work during August summer holidays if required/interested).

Hours and days to be agreed with Candidate upon successful interview.

A self-employed basis.

Main Duties:

To plan and deliver lessons Integration of the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework and program reward schemes into your classes Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions Identify participants' abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential Plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming Set ground rules for each session Evaluate sessions and give feedback Regularly assess each participant's ability and progress and arrange for the award of the appropriate certificates using our online portal To attend regular meetings with the Coordinator as and when necessary

Skills:

Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming Good communicator The ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers Perseverance and patience The ability to encourage people and put them at ease An understanding of how to differentiate in a teaching session Ideally the candidate will hold a valid National Reach Rescue Award / Pool Attendant Qualification or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, although not essential. A professional, punctual, and well-organized person responsible for the implementation, development, and organisation of swimming classes Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends

Additional Requirements:

Enhanced DBS checked, if you do not hold a current valid DBS we will apply on your behalf (a small fee will be applied)

Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teaching qualification or equivalent desirable

IOS or equivalent personal insurance desirable. Insurance is also provided by Mer-Fin Swim.

Job Type: Part-time (afterschool hours). Permanent position.

Salary: 12.50 to 17.00 /hour depending on experience

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: 12.50-17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 15 per week
