We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security across all systems. This role requires a strong understanding of networking protocols, security measures, and system administration across various platforms.
Responsibilities
Administer and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and VPN configurations.
Implement and manage firewalls (Cisco ASA) and network security measures to protect sensitive data.
Provide network support for troubleshooting issues related to DNS, DHCP, and IP networking.
Configure and manage routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP to optimise network performance.
Oversee authentication processes using Active Directory, LDAP, and SSO solutions.
Manage remote access software for secure connectivity to the network.
Ensure high availability of services through load balancing and redundancy strategies.
Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk to identify potential issues proactively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects involving cloud services (AWS, Azure) and virtualisation technologies (VMware).
Document network architecture changes and maintain accurate records of configurations.
Qualifications
Proven experience in network engineering or administration with a strong understanding of computer networking concepts.
Proficiency in managing Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls; experience with Juniper devices is advantageous.
Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), macOS, and Solaris.
Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, SSH, NFS, and VoIP technologies.
Experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash (Unix shell) for automation tasks.
Understanding of ITIL principles for effective service management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues effectively.
