We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for garment construction and alterations, demonstrating expertise in fitting and sewing techniques. As a Tailor, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality custom garments that meet our clients' specifications and preferences.

Duties

Perform alterations on various types of garments, including suits, dresses, and casual wear, ensuring a perfect fit for clients. Construct new garments from scratch based on client measurements and design specifications. Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to create and modify clothing items. Conduct fittings with clients to assess fit and make necessary adjustments. Maintain an organised workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available. Collaborate with clients to understand their style preferences and provide expert advice on fabric choices and garment care. Keep up-to-date with current fashion trends and tailoring techniques to enhance service offerings.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Tailor or in a similar role within the fashion industry. Proficient in using sewing machines, overlockers, and other tailoring equipment. Strong understanding of garment construction techniques and fabric properties. Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills to effectively interact with clients. Knowledge of pattern making is an advantage but not essential. Flexibility to work varied hours as needed to accommodate client schedules.
