A note from the Founders

Oxford Dynamics is at an inflection point.

We operate in some of the most complex and high?stakes environments in the world - defence, national security, AI and robotics. The decisions we make now, particularly around who we hire, will define not just how fast we grow, but who we become.

This role is not about maintaining a hiring process. It is about building the talent engine of the company -setting the bar, shaping the culture and ensuring we bring in people who thrive under real responsibility and real mission pressure.

You will work closely with us and the leadership team. You will be trusted with judgment calls. You will influence strategy. And you will see the impact of your work every day in the calibre of the team we build.

If you are excited by ownership, pace and purpose - and by building something that genuinely matters -we would love to hear from you.

Who We Are

Founded in 2020, Oxford Dynamics is a fast?growing UK deep?tech company developing AI and robotic systems designed to operate in mission?critical environments.

Our flagship AVIS (A Very Intelligent System) AI framework fuses multi?modal data - text, imagery, telemetry and sensor feeds - enabling operators to interrogate complex information at speed and make better decisions under pressure. Our STRIDER robotic platform performs autonomous tasks in hazardous environments, protecting people while extending operational reach.

Our ambition is simple but demanding: to converge AI and robotics so machines can sense, understand and act in complex, real?world environments.

We work with defence and security organisations internationally to help protect nations, infrastructure and lives.

Why This Role Matters?

The next phase of Oxford Dynamics' growth will be defined by talent.

We are scaling from a team of ~35 today and expect to grow rapidly. The people we hire over the next 12-24 months will shape our culture, execution speed, leadership depth and long?term success.

This is a foundational hire. You will design how we attract, assess and hire exceptional people - and you will be accountable for the quality of those decisions.

The Role

We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Lead who wants to build, not inherit.

You will own end?to?end recruitment across the business and act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team. This is a hands?on role: you will source, headhunt, assess, close and continuously refine how we hire.

We currently rely heavily on agencies. Your mandate is to transition us to a direct, high?quality sourcing and headhunting model that scales without compromising standards.

To do this effectively, you will be embedded in the business - spending time with teams, understanding how work really happens and translating that into smarter hiring decisions.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

Proven experience hiring technical talent within technology?led organisations (ideally AI, robotics or adjacent deep?tech domains). Experience in fast?growing start?ups or scale?ups where pace, ambiguity and ownership are the norm. Strong direct?sourcing and headhunting capability, including engaging non?active candidates. Confidence operating at all levels of an organisation, from early?career hires to senior leadership.

Mindset & Approach

Builder mentality - you enjoy creating systems where none exist. High judgment and strong intuition, backed by data. Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information. Bias toward action and delivery. Collaborative, direct and low?ego.

Nice to Have

Business, HR or people?related qualification. Prior experience building an in?house recruitment function from scratch.

Equivalent experience is welcomed in place of formal qualifications.

This Role Is Not for You If You

Prefer highly structured environments with mature processes already in place. Need constant direction or detailed playbooks to operate effectively. Enjoy recruitment administration more than sourcing and closing. Prefer slow hiring cycles and minimal urgency. Want a fully remote role with limited in?person collaboration.

What You'll Get in Return

Rapid personal and professional growth. Genuine ownership and influence in a scaling deep?tech company. The opportunity to shape the future of AI and robotics in mission?critical domains. Hybrid working model. Company pension (NEST) with 4% employer contribution. Private healthcare. 29 days annual leave plus public holidays (FTE).

Oxford Dynamics is committed to building an inclusive environment where talented people from all backgrounds can do their best work. We believe diversity of thought, experience and perspective strengthens everything we build.

If this role excites you - even if you don't meet every requirement - we encourage you to apply.
