The Role
This post is commissioned and funded by the Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT), established in Los Angeles and now expanding into Oxford.

EIT is expanding upon its existing collaborations with the University of Oxford by building a 320,000 square feet research institute and medical clinic in the nearby Oxford Science Park. In addition to this investment, EIT will fund approximately 20 scholarships each year for the world\'s best global innovators, offering fully-funded study at the University of Oxford, and cutting-edge programming and innovation opportunities with world experts in Oxford, LA and beyond.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Talent Acquisition Manager (TA) to initially operate in a standalone role, then over time build out a TA function and team. They will be responsible for fulfilling all recruitment needs within EIT Oxford which may include, clinical research and medical staff, scientific personnel, corporate and central office (finance, IT, Admin for example) team members.

Hours of work will generally be Monday to Friday, core hours 08:30-17:30 and will be office/site based. However due to the nature of the role and organisation there may be times where flexibility is required during the evening and occasionally weekends to accommodate interaction with EIT Los Angeles and also on international recruitment campaigns managed by Oxford.

Responsibilities
The Talent Acquisition (TA) Manager will be responsible for leading end-to-end recruitment processes, with a heavy emphasis on sourcing, researching, pipelining, and identifying top talent for various roles within EIT. As an in-house recruiter, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with hiring managers and key stakeholders to ensure a seamless recruitment experience including onboarding process. An excellent communicator who can establish credibility when supporting managers, including C-Suite through to operational leaders, they will provide a business partnering approach to deliver TA solutions.

May include some or all the following responsibilities:

Sourcing and Talent Mapping:

  • Utilise a variety of sourcing methods to identify and engage passive candidates.
  • Develop and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends and competitor talent landscapes.
  • Have awareness of market trends regarding compensation and benefits.
End-to-End Recruitment:
  • Manage the entire recruitment life cycle, from job requisition to candidate onboarding.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand role requirements, responsibilities, and cultural fit.
  • Create/Support on appropriate interview processes, techniques and assessment to test candidate ability and fit for role
  • Conduct thorough candidate assessments, including interviews and reference checks.
Candidate Experience:
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to candidates.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting a positive and appealing employer brand
Diversity and Inclusion:
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance diversity and inclusion in recruitment processes.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to create a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Employer Branding:
  • Seek feedback from candidates, collate and report on learnings to build Employee Value Proposition.
  • Use existing tools, such as Glassdoor and Linked In to build candidate awareness and engagement with recruitment campaigns and future hiring needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers and department heads.
  • Provide regular updates on recruitment progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Identify and use appropriate data to create reporting mechanisms on hiring processes, individual campaigns and overall performance of the TA function.
Industry Expertise:
  • Demonstrate solid experience in recruiting across various functions, including clinical, life sciences, and corporate roles.
  • Stay informed about industry-specific requirements, certifications, and qualifications.
Person Specification

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Qualification for role by extensive experience in related job function[s].
  • Familiarity with clinical and life sciences recruitment.
  • Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Manager or similar role, preferably in a startup environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of recruiting strategies, sourcing techniques, and talent acquisition best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Self Starter and able to work autonomously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experienced and competent with driving efficiency via Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS and other recruitment tools. [JazzHR and Bamboo current systems].
  • Job advertisement creation, drafting and publication of.
  • Thorough awareness of job boards and interaction with such tools.
  • Budgetary control and forecasting

Terms of Appointment
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK with a willingness to travel as necessary.
  • You must be based in, or within easy commuting distance of, Oxford.
  • During peak periods, some longer hours may be required and some working across multiple time zones due to the global nature of the programme.
