Overview:

This is a part time opportunity working 3 to 4 days a week on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.

As a Tax Accountant at Kingfisher, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate VAT compliance across our UK Group and supporting the wider business on tax matters. You'll help strengthen our financial controls, identify opportunities for process improvements, and contribute to Kingfisher's purpose of helping customers create better homes and lives.


What's the job?:
Prepare accurate and timely VAT and GST returns for a portfolio of UK companies. Maintain and reconcile tax balance sheet accounts, ensuring strong internal controls. Conduct monthly tax control checks and support audit requirements. Provide clear, practical tax advice to business partners across the organisation. Identify and implement process improvements in tax compliance and reporting. Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business. Collaborate with IT and finance teams to maintain system integrity for VAT reporting.

What you'll bring:
Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation and accounting principles. Proven experience in preparing tax returns and managing compliance processes. Skilled in SAP and Excel, with the ability to handle large datasets effectively. Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
