Job Summary
This is a great opportunity for a dynamic, professional individual qualified in an appropriate discipline to join a forward-thinking college to develop and teach across a range of courses which are designed to develop and prepare young people for adulthood, independence and further study.

You will be part of the Step-up and Progress Hub team (formally known as Foundation Studies) that works within the Directorate of Health, Education and Service Industries and will primarily be working with learners who have a range of barriers to learning; some being those with Special educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and many with other areas of disengagement from mainstream learning who may need an alternative approach.

You will plan, deliver and assess on a variety of accredited Entry and Level 1 programmes which focus on transition to further study in vocational areas.

Experience of working with learners with Special Education Needs and Disabilities, learners with Education, Health and Care Plans and Neurodivergent learners is essential.

The successful post-holder will also have experience of working with, supporting, and engaging 'hard to reach' young people on a one to one basis and in a group setting. Experience in deploying a broad range of teaching and personal skills to enable young people to accurately identify and strive to achieve challenging personal and social development goals is essential.

You will be required to provide a supportive and professional environment that will promote the development of individual and groups of learners. You will be expected to be organised with excellent time management and administrative skills. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and show a flexible and professional attitude.

You will ideally be educated to a minimum of level 3 and possess or be willing to work towards a relevant teaching qualification.

This post holds 414 delivery hours, per academic year (828 for full time hours).

The role will require you to embed the college's values:

Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, High Expectations and Responsibility.
