We are looking for a Teacher of English to join our fantastic team at Physis Academy in September!

We are a specialist Independent School based in Shropshire, providing education for up to 45 pupils aged 11-18, who are at risk or have experienced sexual exploitation.

The school delivers individualised educational provision to students who require high levels of understanding, consistency and continuity through an integrated therapeutic approach. We also deliver education in two local alternative provisions were some of our pupils reside and receive therapeutic care.

What we are looking for:

A Teacher of English who will be responsible for the delivery of the English curriculum in Key stages 3 and 4. The possibility to enhance this role and salary is available for the right candidate who could also lead Literacy / Phonic programmes across the school.

A patient, kind, creative and engaging teacher who can provide targeted lessons to a pupil's needs. Training or expertise in the relevant GCSE curriculum (e.g. English, Literacy) Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes Highly effective teamwork skills.

The Requirements

DET (DTLLS) & QTLS (or willingness to achieve)

OR Degree, PGCE Secondary English & QTS

ORTeaching Degree & QTS. Recent and relevant experience as an effective Teacher delivering English at various levels E.g. functional skills, GCSE, Entry level, Phonics, Literacy. A Level (A - C) or nationally recognized Level 3 qualification in English.
Experience of working with secondary students with SEN, SEMH and other needs is desirable. Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes Eligible to work in the UK Full driving licence Full enhance DBS check
