Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

Skylark Federation are looking for a Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Assistant to join our welcoming and friendly village school at Hamsey, Cooksbridge, Lewes. We have friendly and engaged families, happy children who are keen to do their best and a positive, supportive working environment.


The hours of work are 8.30am until 2.45pm two days a week and 8.30am until 3.15pm three days a week, as a teaching assistant, 12.00 noon until 1.00pm as a lunchtime assistant. This position is for five days a week. This position is to work across KS1 and KS2 as it includes three afternoons of PPA cover.


The successful candidate will support the teacher in the classroom to deliver teaching. They will work with children and assist with all learning activities.


They will either work across the classroom, one-to-one with a pupil or with a small group, assisting children who may need a little extra help. You'll be there to boost the confidence of the pupils you are working with, empowering the children in a nurturing and supportive environment whilst openly assisting the teacher.


You will be an extra pair of eyes in the classroom, picking up on any changes in behaviour and helping to ensure that every child has a safe and happy learning experience.
