As a SEN Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience while developing your skills, supporting pupils in their learning, and contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.


Apprenticeship Overview:

Salary: 7.55 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds Working Week: Monday to Friday 8:35am to 3:50pm with a 30 minute lunch break Hours: 33.5 hours per week Duration: 18 months Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification Online training supported by our dedicated tutor Location: The Fairway, London, NW7 3HS

What you'll be doing:

Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resource set-up, and classroom activities to create a productive learning environment. Provide tailored guidance to pupils, helping them understand subjects, build confidence, and overcome challenges. Support behaviour management strategies, ensuring a safe, respectful, and engaging space for learning. Help organise and prepare teaching materials, from textbooks to visual aids and digital resources. Assist with marking, recording progress, and tracking student performance. Work closely with staff to adapt activities and ensure all pupils, including those with additional needs, feel included and supported. Encourage the use of technology in lessons, guiding students with educational tools and software. Support teachers in maintaining positive relationships with parents, sharing progress and addressing concerns. Take part in training and workshops to develop your teaching skills and knowledge. Always uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and student welfare.

What we're looking for:

Full commitment to working within an SEN environment. Sensitivity, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. A team player who enjoys working with others and supporting different needs. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced learning environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and interpersonal. An interest in teaching and learning, with the ability to engage and inspire. A good understanding of people's behaviours and reactions.

This role is perfect for someone who is caring, motivated, and passionate about making education accessible for all.


Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice's needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.
