Outwood Academy Valley is looking for an individual who has high aspirations for students, who is committed, and passionate about learning; who has the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of 'Students First'.
We are a school where excellence, innovation, and opportunity come together to create an outstanding learning environment for both students and staff. Situated at the heart of its vibrant community in Worksop, a town which is rich in history and culture with a historic market centre, mining heritage and growing commuter links for nearby cities, including Sheffield. Our community has a strong industrial history, particularly in coal mining. It is known as the "Gateway to the Dukeries" due to its proximity to several historic ducal estates, including the beautiful Clumber Park, Thoresby Hall, Welbeck Abbey, and Worksop Manor.
We value and support our staff, offering high-quality professional development, a collaborative and dynamic working environment, and the opportunity to make a real difference. If you are passionate about education and looking to join a dedicated team that strives for excellence, we warmly invite you to explore the exciting opportunities at our academy.
The role of Teaching Assistant across our Academy is to promote the learning and welfare of students by providing practical and learning support to students, including those with statements of special educational needs, under the direction of the class teacher. 'A message from the community executive principal'. As the Community Executive Principal, I'm excited to share why joining our team offers a unique and rewarding experience that goes beyond working in a single school - if you choose to become a part of the team you will influence the lives of over 6,000 young people; shaping their futures by raising standards and transforming lives. Imagine being part of a supportive network of four Outwood academies across Nottinghamshire and Sheffield, where collaboration and innovation are at the heart of everything we do. This is what it means to be part of our Outwood community, and it's something I'm passionate about fostering in my role. Across the learning community we host joint senior team meetings, schedule regular learning walks in different schools for colleagues (at all levels), work with local businesses to secure student opportunities and enrichments and are constantly developing mechanisms for working with parents. We have fostered a culture of sharing the very best practice across the community and are committed to providing world class professional development for teaching and support staff. With us, you will have the opportunity to: Connect and collaborate with colleagues across multiple schools: Share best practices, participate in joint projects, and learn from a diverse range of experienced professionals.* Develop your skills and expertise: Benefit from a wide range of professional development opportunities and contribute to a dynamic learning community.* Make a bigger impact: Your contributions will extend beyond your own classroom, and school, influencing and supporting colleagues and students across the community.* Be part of something bigger: Experience the strength and support of a close-knit community within the larger Outwood family.* I work closely with each academy in our community to facilitate this collaboration, ensuring that we are sharing our strengths, learning from each other, and constantly striving for improvement. This creates a truly unique and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. We also look to extend and enrich the lives of our students ensuring they too benefit from being part of a wider 'community' than the one in which they live.
Outwood Grange Academies Trust provides a high-quality learning and cultural environment that inspires and motivates children. Whether you are ambitious for progression, or determined to be an outstanding member of our support team, Outwood Academy Valley is the place for you.

We are an Ofsted Outstanding, 11-18 academy based in the large friendly town of Worksop, near Sheffield and Nottingham.
Since joining the Outwood Family in 2012, we were rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2017 and are among the top schools for Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire for GCSE results, including English and Maths. We are committed to developing our staff and we are delighted that after its latest inspection, Ofsted noted that 'the support provided for teachers' development is strong and wide ranging.'
We believe that learning should be both enjoyable and enriching. We are innovators with a knowledge-rich curriculum, designed to personalise learning for every student, helping them to reach their potential. With a holistic view of education, we value vocational, practical, creative and academic excellence equally, creating an environment where every student can shine.
We have won numerous awards as a school and we have been accredited with the prestigious IQM Award, which highlights that inclusion at all levels is of paramount importance to us. We are also proud to have been awarded Silver Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.
Although we are Outstanding, we are constantly looking to improve. Help to take us to the next level.
The Outwood Family of Schools pride ourselves on fully supporting colleagues within the Family both professionally and personally.
We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.
As a founding Trust of the National Institute of Education (NIoT), we will actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education and NIoT to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all teaching staff receiving a minimum of two hours of CPD each week.
We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including family friendly policies, enhanced occupational benefits available (such as maternity, adoption and parental leave) with no qualifying period, funded CPD for qualifications up to and including Masters level plus other exclusive benefits including a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy.
