Job Description

Join our vibrant specialist setting, dedicated to pupils aged 5-16 with a wide spectrum of learning difficulties, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, non-verbal communication, and more. You'll work 1:1 and in small groups, delivering structured learning and therapeutic support tailored to each pupil's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Individual & Small Group Support:

Work closely with pupils, delivering adapted learning activities and facilitating engagement.

Personal & Communication Assistance:

Support non-verbal students using tools like PECS, Makaton, and visual aids.

Behaviour & Emotional Management:

Assist with behaviour plans and use de-escalation strategies to foster self-regulation.

Collaborative Planning:

Contribute to lesson planning, IEPs/EHCPs, and liaise with SENCOs, therapists, parents, and external professionals.

Daily Wellbeing Duties:

Help with personal care, mobility, and emotional wellbeing as part of holistic pupil support.
Person Specification:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:



Experience with SEN or SEMH pupils, particularly those with Autism, ADHD, or non-verbal communication needs. Patient, adaptable, and resilient with strong interpersonal & communication skills. Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to gain one) and right to work in the UK.

Desirable Skills & Qualities:



Experience with Makaton, PECS or other AAC systems. Trained in behaviour management (Team?Teach, de-escalation). Understanding of trauma-informed approaches.
