We wish to appoint a caring, dedicated and experienced
Teaching Assistant
to join the Learning Support team working in the Prep School.
The Teaching Assistant will provide pupil support under the specific supervision, instruction and guidance of the class teacher and Head of Learning Development on a full-time, term time only basis.
The successful candidate will understand holistic education and will have the ability to actively motivate and inspire children to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
A level 3 TA qualification would be desirable.
Main Responsibilities
To support the class teacher in delivering effective teaching and learning.
To promote the welfare, development and progress of all pupils.
To assist in maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment.
To contribute to the wider life of the School and uphold its values.
To work collaboratively with staff and engage in professional development.
General Duties
The following list of tasks is indicative of the generic tasks which Teaching Assistants may be routinely asked to do. This is not intended to be an exclusive or exhaustive list.
Monitoring and recording absences
Photocopying
Classroom displays
Ordering supplies and equipment
Stock taking
Cataloguing, preparing, issuing and maintaining equipment and materials
Performance Review and Appraisal
Undertake minor administrative tasks such as photocopying and preparing resources.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions and INSET as required.
To keep up-to-date with current educational thinking and practice, both by reading and by attendance at courses, workshops and meetings
To participate in the school's appraisal system
Uphold and model the ethos, expectations and values of Rossall Prep School.
