Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in Gillingham?

We are currently recruiting for a

dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant

to join a

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Gillingham

on a

long-term supply basis starting in September 2025

.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual who enjoys supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs Assist the class teacher with delivering and adapting learning activities Support students with communication, behaviour regulation, and social interaction Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment Provide personal care when required Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals

Essential Skills & Experience:

Experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar role Good understanding of Autism, ADHD, and other SEND conditions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Supporting Teaching and Learning) - desirable Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
