About the role



We are looking for a caring, proactive, and enthusiastic Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Downsend School. In this vital role, you'll support the learning and wellbeing of pupils from across the school, working closely with teachers and the SENDCo to help every child thrive.

You will assist with day-to-day classroom activities, provide individual or small group support, and play an active role in fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. You'll help pupils build confidence, develop independence, and reach their full potential--while gaining valuable experience within a dynamic and forward-thinking school community.

Who we are looking for:



We're seeking someone who is passionate about supporting children's education and wellbeing, with a calm, positive presence and strong communication skills. Experience working with children is essential, and while a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, it's your energy, empathy, and commitment to going the extra mile that will set you apart.


You'll be a team player with a great sense of humour, a willingness to learn, and a flexible, can-do attitude. You'll also share our commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and delivering an education that prepares pupils to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
