Value Education is working with a Secondary School in Rochdale that are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant for the new academic year. We are seeking someone to work in the classroom supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs with their learning on a 1:1 basis.
For the role, it is required to have SEND experience working with Secondary aged students.
Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
Provide support for students on a 1:1 basis
Maintain positive relationships with pupils and interact according to individual needs
Assist with de-escalating behaviour
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Encourage pupils to interact and engage in lessons
Requirements for the Teaching Assistant role:
Experience working within education - ESSENTIAL
A strong understanding of SEND -ESSENTIAL
Experience of managing challenging behaviour
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Willing to support children of all abilities and needs
