About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching and learning processes for pupils aged 4-19 years with Severe Learning Difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties. This involves:

Developing, maintaining, and applying knowledge of pupils' general and specific learning needs to provide appropriate support. Delivering learning support individually and in groups, including clarifying instructions for literacy and numeracy tasks. Supporting pupils in using ICT and other specialist equipment to enhance their learning. Motivating and encouraging pupils to concentrate and fulfill tasks. Undertaking learning activities with pupils of varying abilities to ensure differentiation and curriculum access. Promoting and reinforcing pupils' self-esteem, appropriate effort and behavior, and guiding them towards independent learning. Contributing to the assessment of pupils' learning, particularly in Literacy, Numeracy, Science, and ICT skills. Assisting teaching staff in developing learning strategies and preparing a safe and suitable learning environment. Supervising and supporting pupils with personal care needs, including hygiene and medical support, as required. Assisting with educational visits and activities outside the normal school day, such as camps and trips. Potentially driving the school minibus.

We are looking for someone who:



Is caring and enthusiastic. Has an education standard equating to GCSE Grade C in English and Mathematics (minimum A-C/Point 4 or equivalent). Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Hours:

Full-time, 5 days per week (31.65 hrs), term time. Specific hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 08:40 - 15:30 hrs; Wednesday: 08:40 - 15:45 hrs. CPD is on Tuesday or Thursday until 16:15 hrs.

Salary:

Grade 14 - 11.98-12.38 per hour.
