Active Outreach Services is seeking passionate and experienced
Tutors/Mentors
to provide
educational and mentoring support
to children and young people with
Special Educational Needs this can simply include school refusers (SEN), ADHD, Autism, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Our students require tailored support to help them engage with learning, develop essential life skills, and build confidence. We are particularly looking for individuals with experience with young people with or without SEN needs who can deliver
face-to-face
sessions across Kent. Particularly the following areas: Margate
Ramsgate
Dover
Tonbridge wells
Ashford
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 tuition and mentoring, adapting sessions to meet the individual needs of students.
Support students with
low level ability, School refusers, SEN, ADHD, Autism, and SEMH
, using engaging and structured approaches to help with learning and social emotional development.
Our children and young people are vulnerable therefore we require someone who is patient
and can be flexible to meet their needs.
Maintain daily reports of each session
Provide a
supportive, patient, and motivating
environment for students.
Requirements:
Experience working with children and young people
from different backgrounds and needs
Must have or a willingness to complete i.e Safeguarding, First Aid (we will offer this courses once appointed)
Background in
teaching, mentoring, tutoring, or youth work
(experienced tutors/mentors or unqualified willing to train qualified Tutors, Teaching Assistants, or experienced Mentors welcome).
Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students.
A flexible, proactive, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
Enhanced
DBS check
Ability to
travel
within Kent for face-to-face sessions (for in-person roles).
