Salary:

Interview Date:

26th August 2025

Are you a sharp and proactive Teaching Assistant ready to dive into a vibrant and supportive school community? We are searching for

four dynamic Teaching Assistants

to join a thriving school in the heart of North West London. This full-time role begins in September 2025 and runs through to the end of the academic year, offering you the chance to work directly with children who need your skills the most. Think of it as your opportunity to make an immediate difference--without the permanence of a lifetime sentence!

About the School

Located in a leafy corner of London's Barnet borough, this welcoming school is renowned for championing inclusive education with a strong focus on supporting students with Special Educational Needs. The school has a solid base of teaching assistants but needs four more enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join forces with existing staff.

Key Features of the School:

Ofsted Rated 'Good'

- Not perfect, but pretty damn solid; you'll be joining a school where improvement is the name of the game.

Facilities

- Modern classrooms, specialist SEN resources, and plenty of space for creative interventions.

Ethos

- Inclusive, nurturing, and refreshingly straightforward; a school where every child matters, but no one's allowed to get away with nonsense.

Size

- Medium-sized with a strong sense of community; big enough to offer variety, small enough that you will not get lost in the crowd.
Why Join Us as a Teaching Assistant?

Supportive SEN Team

- Work closely with skilled professionals to make a real difference in children's lives as a Teaching Assistant.

Immediate Impact

- No faffing about; you will be working directly with children from day one, helping to shape their educational journey.

Collaborative Culture

- Join a team that values your input, your ideas, and your ability to keep things interesting.

Flexible and Forward-Thinking

- A school environment that embraces innovation, fresh ideas, and the occasional sarcastic quip.
What You'll Do as a Teaching Assistant:

Deliver targeted support to pupils with a range of SEN needs across KS3 and KS4. Help develop personalised learning plans that cater to each student's strengths and challenges. Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff--because good teamwork makes everything easier. Use your keen eye for detail and patience to keep lessons on track and engaging. Maintain high expectations for behaviour, because chaos is only funny in sitcoms.
What We're Looking For:

A confident Teaching Assistant with previous SEN experience (or a heroic amount of enthusiasm to learn). Someone who thrives on challenges and is not afraid to think on their feet. Strong communication skills--verbal and written--because mumbling rarely inspires confidence. A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one faster than a Year Seven running to lunch).
This is an excellent opportunity for Teaching Assistants to step into a rewarding role where your work will be truly valued. Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant or new to the field with a solid foundation of SEN understanding, we would love to hear from you.
