Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in providing an inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with children, including those with autism and other disabilities, to promote their academic, social, and emotional development. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in special education and child care within a supportive setting.

Responsibilities

Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational programmes to children with diverse needs, including autism and disabilities. Support children with their daily activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Provide one-on-one assistance to children requiring additional help, particularly in areas such as toddler care and behavioural support. Foster effective communication with children, parents, and staff to facilitate a cohesive learning experience. Help organise classroom activities and resources to enhance engagement and learning outcomes. Monitor children's behaviour and progress, reporting any concerns to the teaching staff promptly. Support children during breaks, meals, and specialised therapy sessions as required.

Experience

Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with autism or other special educational needs is advantageous. Knowledge of working with people with disabilities and understanding of inclusive education practices is preferred. Previous involvement in toddler care or early childhood education will be considered a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues are essential. This role provides valuable experience for those interested in pursuing careers in education, special needs support, or child development.
