Wemyss Lodge is a Nursing and Complex Care home which has been open for over 20 years in Stratton St. Margaret, Swindon, Wiltshire. Wemyss Lodge caters for a vast variety of care needs and works with the motto "everyone deserves a home and family life."

Our staff team work in partnership to achieve the best possible outcomes for our residents. We have beds providing nursing, respite, dementia, mental health, and complex care units, which all our staff will be fully trained in, including advanced training in specialist areas.

We are now seeking a

strong, confident Team Leader

to join our team. This is a key leadership role on the care floor, responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards, and guiding staff through clear, firm, and supportive direction.

About the Role



As a Team Leader, you will:

Take ownership of the care floor

during shifts, providing clear leadership and direction. Lead and motivate the care team, ensuring effective performance and a positive workplace culture. Supervise Senior and Junior Care Assistants, making sure care is delivered safely and in line with CQC standards. Act as the

first point of escalation for staff issues and resident concerns

, using strong communication and problem-solving skills to resolve situations quickly. Apply

extensive conflict resolution techniques

to manage staff disagreements, reset standards, and maintain a respectful environment. Provide hands-on care, ensuring residents' physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and role modelling. Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with safeguarding, infection control, and health and safety procedures. Promote and uphold Wemyss Lodge's ethos and standards, keeping dignity, respect, and person-centred care at the core of daily practice.

About You



We are looking for someone who is:

A natural, confident leader

- able to take control of a team, set clear expectations, and follow through. Experienced in care, with at least two years as a

Senior Care Assistant or Team Leader

. Qualified to

RQF Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)

. Highly skilled in

conflict resolution and problem solving

, with proven experience managing team disagreements and challenging behaviour. Calm, assertive, and fair - able to balance high standards with empathy and support. Knowledgeable in care regulations, safeguarding, and best practice. Strong in communication, documentation, and collaborative working.

Shift Options:



Day shifts: 8.00am to 8.00pm Night shifts: 8.00pm to 8.00am
(Working week runs Monday to Sunday on a flexible rota completed a month in advance)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
