We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting a team of Care Support Workers to deliver person centred care to adults with a learning disability. Overview of Acorn Village

Acorn Village, became established in the mid 1970's due to the families of children with learning disabilities determination to build a brighter future for their loved ones as they became adults.

We offer high quality care and accommodation to adults with learning disabilities in a residential and supported living setting surrounded on a beautiful 14 acre site .Acorn Village is an independent Charity that has been providing residential and supported living care for adults with a learning disability for almost 50 years.

Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Team Leader. As Team Leader you will be responsible for leading and managing, a staff team, co-ordinating shift activity and delegating tasks accordingly to ensure that service users receive the appropriate support and care. As Team Leader, you will work collaboratively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team in the provision of safe, person-centred and quality assured services to users of the service

In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring their needs are met in a safe and nurturing environment. You will play a crucial role in developing care plans, supervising junior staff, and promoting the well-being of residents within a care home setting. Your leadership and communication skills will be essential in fostering an inclusive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and independence.

Responsibilities



Assess the health and care needs of individuals with learning disabilities, developing tailored care plans to meet their specific requirements. Provide and oversee direct care, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of residents is prioritised at all times. Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance on best practices in care delivery. Maintain accurate records of resident progress and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. Drive initiatives that promote independence and social inclusion for residents, encouraging participation in activities that enhance their quality of life. Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders through effective communication and engagement strategies.

Requirements



NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care or working towards the same Managerial/supervisory experience is preferable but the ability to demonstrate capability is acceptable Experience working within a care home or learning disability environment is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills with a minimum of one years' experience to demonstrate your ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with residents and their families compassionately. Good IT skills for managing care documentation and reporting requirements (use of Ecare planning) A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on best practices in learning disability nursing.

Working hours of 38 per week working over 5 days with the expectation of some weekend working.

Pay: 27,025.00 per year
