Leaving care support workers offer support to some of the most vulnerable young people in society. Bedspace outreach team support the transition from the care system to independence within community outreach settings.
We ensure all our young people have the tools they need to live independently and become a positive part of society. We do this through our work with the ASDAN resettlement training system which is embedded into the work we carry out with our Young People.
Bedspace utilises a relationship-based approach to our support delivery to work through traumatic events that the Young Person may have experienced. Bedspace has a unique approach to service delivery and support that takes a holistic view of delivering support.
We follow a person-centred approach to support delivery.
You will be based from our Liverpool office but will cover the Merseyside area.
Due to the areas this role covers, a car driver with a vehicle and business insurance is essential.
About you
The Team Leader supports the Team Manager by overseeing a cluster of accommodation provisions including outreach accommodation for vulnerable service users. To deputise for the team manager when necessary, line manage staff and work alongside the management team to ensure high standards are maintained in each property, ensuring quality and safe support to service users.
Some of the duties include
Lead on the move-in and out process for service users, ensuring all paperwork is completed to a high standard and service users receive a warm welcome and a full induction.
Reduce voids (empty beds) and support the growth of Bedspace by planning effectively for move-on and liaising with Team Managers and placement teams regarding new referrals.
Act as an enabler by assessing, in consultation with Team Managers and Support Workers, those service users who are ready to be transitioned to supported tenancies, ensuring that the appropriate support and benefits will be in place.
Work collaboratively with regional teams and the wider business to improve Bedspace and embed good practice models.
Assist Support Workers with the delivery of the ASDAN programme, improving the independence skills and educational achievement of service users.
Essential
Previous experience in working with vulnerable young people
Travel is essential so you must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle insured for business use
Computer literate
Good interpersonal skills
Thorough knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children
Have or be willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification
