As a credible member of the Transport Team you will:
Supervise a team of vehicle technicians within your area to ensure all vehicle service and maintenance work is completed to the highest standards, and in compliance with the Company Health and Safety policies and procedures. You will be responsible for the effective planning of day-to-day activities within your area and assist the Transport Services Manager in the delivery of a safe, cost-effective service.
What you'll be responsible for:
Managing safe, effective and efficient fleet maintenance facilities
Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and company Health & Safety policy and procedures, and records maintained
Effectively manage team performance in accordance with Company HR policies
Monitor and control costs to ensure that targets set within the Transport Business Plans are met
Take responsibility for ensuring all documentation relating to vehicle maintenance is completed correctly and records maintained.
Ensuring that all vehicles and associated equipment are maintained to the highest standards (in areas such as Operator Licensing, Construction and Use Regulations, DVSA guidelines, LOLER and PSSR)
Ensure that all vehicle maintenance is carried out according to manufacturer's instructions and that all statutory tests and inspections are carried out on or before their due dates
Ensure that all documentation relating to the maintenance activities are completed correctly and records maintained in accordance with the
Transport business management system
Ensure that all Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are adhered to
Ensure maximum vehicle utilisation through effective planning of vehicle tests and routine servicing
Identify staff training requirements and assist in planning the delivery of that training

About you
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Technology or equivalent
Experience of O licensing and the HGV commercial sector
Supervisory experience in Transport workshop operations
Good knowledge of all relevant Transport regulations, Road Traffic Law
Understanding of business finance and commercial knowledge
IOSHH Managing Safety
Effective communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels within the organisation
Excellent customer service skills
Good to know
A company vehicle is provided
The successful candidate will be required to participate in a standby rota (1 in 6)
0800-1600 Monday-Thursday, 0800-1530 Friday
