Team Manager - Adolescent Safeguarding Team - Croydon
Rate: Up to 42 per hour

Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in-office)
Sheldon Phillips is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead the Adolescent Safeguarding Team in Croydon on a locum basis. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office, offering flexibility while delivering high-quality safeguarding services for adolescents at risk of harm and exploitation.
The Adolescent Safeguarding Team focuses on complex and contextual safeguarding, tackling issues such as child exploitation, missing episodes, and youth violence. This role is perfect for a confident leader who can support practitioners in achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable young people in challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight to a team of social workers managing adolescent safeguarding cases.
Monitor performance, provide reflective supervision, and promote best practice.
Ensure timely, high-quality risk assessments and safeguarding interventions.
Support and develop staff to manage complex cases involving exploitation and contextual risks.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health, education, and police.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
Substantial experience in statutory children's services, with a strong understanding of adolescent safeguarding.
Previous management or senior practitioner experience.
Excellent leadership, risk management, and decision-making skills.
Enhanced DBS check and full right to work in the UK.
