As a Team Manager, you will ensure the co-ordination, planning and delivery of the agreed activities and objectives of the team whilst leading the development and shape of the future service provision.

Leading a team of specialist staff by providing guidance, operational oversight, and expert knowledge; responsible for team planning, performance management, budgeting, and workforce planning.
Building internal and external relationships and developing partnerships and collaborations with works promoters and other stakeholders.
Be an advocate for effective network management and minimizing disruptions, demonstrating this commitment through your management approach and communication.
Working as an integral member of the senior management team, contributing to the overall strategy, management, and development of the Service; providing support and coverage for the Network & Traffic Manager as needed.

Required skills and experience
Managerial qualifications or demonstrable experience in operational management, including strong people and performance management skills.
Experience in a highways or transportation-related role, including solid knowledge and understanding of the processes involved in delivering highway works.
Extensive knowledge of network management, highway licensing, and road space booking, and understanding of how these factors impact works promoters and help mitigate highway disruptions.
Proven ability to lead a customer-focused team with operational management skills to ensure successful delivery.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently build relationships with stakeholders at all levels and negotiate effective business solutions.
Proficiency in project management, including the ability to apply project management principles and practices to complex issues.
Experience in supervising staff and contributing to the development of a cohesive team to achieve objectives.
