Our children are aged

5-17 years old

and many have experienced trauma that influences how they understand the world around them. Children may also have social, emotional and behavioural needs, learning difficulties, developmental delays, special educational needs and a range of disabilities or medical needs (seen and unseen). RUOE provides trauma-informed therapeutic support to help young people overcome adversity and thrive.

Role Overview



As a

Team Supervisor

, you will be responsible for leading staff teams during sessions, ensuring children's needs are met through therapeutic approaches and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) techniques. You will ensure sessions are delivered safely, professionally, and in line with policies, procedures, and legal standards.

You will oversee staff conduct, time management, safeguarding responsibilities, and ensure accurate recording and reporting of incidents, concerns, and children's progress. You will support and develop staff to work confidently and consistently with our children.

This role requires confidence, strong organisation, sound judgement, and clear communication. You must be able to lead by example and create a positive, structured environment for both children and staff.

Key Responsibilities



Manage and support staff to ensure they can perform their roles safely, confidently, and effectively. Support the Manager to deliver sessions in line with organisational standards, legislation, and best practice. Act as a positive role model, promoting RUOE's values and professional standards. Ensure staff conduct is appropriate at all times, and report concerns or misconduct promptly. Ensure children's needs are met through therapeutic approaches and PBS strategies. Ensure staff follow children's plans, risk assessments, policies and procedures accurately. Ensure environments remain safe, nurturing, clean, and suitable for children. Maintain accurate written records and ensure safeguarding concerns, incidents, and behaviours are recorded and reported correctly. Contribute to developing and reviewing care plans, therapeutic plans, and risk assessments. Monitor impact and outcomes, ensuring children are actively involved in their care and support plans. Support social media and organisational engagement by ensuring testimonial videos, session videos, photos and positive updates are shared appropriately. Lead team meetings and support staff inductions, supervisions, appraisals and reflective practice. Support shadow shifts and help new staff settle into their role. Work in partnership with external professionals to ensure children receive holistic support (e.g., schools, social workers, clinicians).

Person Specification / RequirementsEssential



A genuine passion and dedication to working with children and young people, with commitment, patience, resilience, and a sense of humour. Relevant qualification such as: Diploma Level 3 or 4 in Children's Residential Care, OR Health and Social Care (Children), OR A relevant degree Previous experience working with children and/or young people with complex needs. Strong communication skills and confidence in decision-making. Ability to lead, support, and develop staff. A good understanding of safeguarding, legislation, and regulations. Willingness to undertake additional training and qualifications (clinical and operational). Commitment to your contracted hours. Full UK manual driving licence. Enhanced DBS disclosure required. Subject to satisfactory references and onboarding checks.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Strong supervisory and team leadership skills The ability to manage and resolve conflict calmly and professionally Good written and spoken English to understand and apply policies and procedures in practice Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Confidence working with complex needs, trauma, behaviour, and safeguarding responsibilities

Preferred:



Experience in a similar role, or working with vulnerable children/young people (or vulnerable adults). This experience may come from professional roles, placements, volunteering, or apprenticeships/traineeships.

Pay: 22,398.59-36,331.27 per year
