Salary circa \xc2\xa360,000 plus up to 15% bonus and healthcare cover.

This is an exciting time to join SP Energy Networks (SPEN) as an Application Consultant. We are working to transform and develop our Digitalisation Strategy to improve services for our customers and stakeholders whilst working towards the UK\xe2\x80\x99s Net Zero target!

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to take the next step in their career and start their journey with SPEN. This position will support you to develop and improve your People Management skills while still operating at a technical level.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing

Create and maintain the models, templates and frameworks that will be used by the rest of the team in the implementation of the business requirements.

Define effective application solution designs on IT projects up to \xc2\xa35m.

Make application design decisions that satisfy both local and Global requirements.

Be responsible for working within the framework of IT applications which includes, Data Analysis solutions, Customer Service Digital solutions, and other Emerging Digital technologies.

Ensure that Applications Analysts are familiar with the design decisions and that they have been ratified with the Transformation Architecture & Strategy team.

Lead a team of up to 5 Application Analysts and Application Administrators to deliver and support solutions. This may include external contractors.

Provide expert advice to Transformation teams & projects and contribute to global/local definition of strategy, standards and procedures,

Develop into detailed solutions designs in collaboration with the Architecture & Strategy team.

Review financial cost assumptions regarding proposed solutions, making sure they are valid, justified and challenged as appropriate.

Highly developed problem solving and delivery skills

Ability to analyse complex issues, recommend appropriate solutions, and manage projects to delivery and into support.

Excellent communication skills, with an ability to distil technical issues into a form that can be digested by non-technical managers

The ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders locally and globally.

Experience of operating in a matrix management model and of managing a team comprising a combination of internal and external resources.

Minimum Criteria

Extensive experience of Application development in an organisation of similar scope and scale to ScottishPower

Previous Solutions Application Design experience in a global organisation

Significant experience in working with external vendors to define application solutions.

The ability to collaborate with various external providers, to complete proof of concept exercises and run innovation projects you can make a real impact for the business.

Sound experience and understanding of Application challenges and solutions
