About the Role
As a
Technical Design Coordinator
, you will bridge the gap between our clients, in-house design team, and external freelance draughtspeople. You will be responsible for reviewing and coordinating technical drawings for bespoke furniture projects, ensuring that all designs meet our aesthetic, functional, and manufacturing standards. This role combines interior design insight, technical joinery knowledge, and project coordination skills to deliver exceptional results on time and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact between clients, internal teams, and outsourced drawing freelancers
Review and approve technical drawings for accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability before submission to production
Ensure all drawings align with project specifications, design intent, and company standards
Communicate design revisions clearly and efficiently to freelancers and clients
Manage drawing timelines and coordinate deliverables to meet project deadlines
Collaborate with the design and production teams to resolve technical challenges and material considerations
Support the development of new furniture designs through technical input and detailing
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, or related field
Strong technical knowledge of joinery, furniture construction, and materials (timber, veneers, hardware, finishes, etc.)
Proficient in AutoCAD (essential)
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing drawings
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Strong time management and project coordination abilities
Experience working with bespoke or high-end furniture/joinery projects preferred
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and workshop practices
Previous experience liaising with external contractors or freelancers
