About the role



Join the Housing Property Team Energy Team and help us shape safer, smarter, low carbon homes for the future. As our Technical Energy Officer you will play key role in undertaking, collecting and analysing energy surveys including EPC and retrofit surveys across our housing stock, enabling us to plan and deliver long-term energy improvement schemes investment programmes and maximise external grant funding. Improving homes and ensure compliance with Decent Homes, Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards and Net Zero Low Carbon targes and other regulatory standards.


We are looking for someone with passion and enthusiasm in the field of energy and knowledge of energy efficiency within public sector housing and retrofit projects.

Your role is to carry out surveys, to assess and lodge Energy Performance Certificates and Retrofit Surveys across our housing portfolio Collecting accurate data on energy and retrofit schemes. Support the development of our asset management strategy and investment planning To provide specialist advice on low carbon heating and analysis of current and future low carbon installations. Assist in maintaining and updating an asset database using relevant software including Lifespan and QL and interrogate PAS Hub. Liaise with residents, contractors and colleagues to ensure access during surveys Develop specifications for energy scheme ensuring latest and most suitable products. Assist with delivery of energy schemes, handovers and documentation.

What we are looking for in a candidate (key strengths and experience).

Retrofit Assessor, experienced in carrying out EPC and Retrofit surveys Knowledge of Housing standards including Decent Homes Standard, Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard, and PAS 2035 Attention to detail, excellent record keeping and analytical skills. Experience or knowledge of low carbon and renewable technology installations. Good communication, interpersonal skills and written skills to deliver instructions. Familiarity with asset management, survey software and pas hub.

Reporting to the Home Energy Manager you will have responsibility for implementing the organisation energy efficiency and environmental policies, procedures, practices, and initiatives.


Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. There maybe the possibility of evening or weekend work.


Based at 6 Knowsley Place, you will be working minimum 2 days in the office and remote hybrid working.


Salary is 28,598-31,022
