Working in a busy department, both as a team member and independently to deliver well prepared and accurate costed quotations for the sales department. To offer competitive, accurate and profitable quotations within time crucial deadlines.
Responsibilities
Fully assess and understand customer requirements to ensure cost, quality and delivery needs of the customer are satisfied.
Reassess and requote where required by changes or customer requests.
Obtain written quotations for raw materials, sub-contract services and coatings as required.
Work closely with production department and communicate production routes and vendor costs where possible. Keep updated with company and subcontract capacity.
Collaborate and communicate with other departments such as sales, quality, engineering and purchasing to help create accurate and detailed costs.
Liaise with quality department to ensure all specifications and standards are understood prior to all costings.
Manage workload of the department and ensure quotations are completed as per company and customer requirements.
Communicate and work closely with company suppliers including UK, Europe and Worldwide with the objective of building stronger relationships, to improve the quality of the service in line with company objectives and targets to support the growth of the company.
Utilise new and existing tools and IT systems to aid in the costing of specialised bolting and non-standard machined parts.
Collate information and costings to use with other members of the department.
Essential Requirements
Good working Knowledge of bolting specifications, industry standards.
Maths and functional skills
Attention to detail
IT Literate
Good working knowledge of raw materials including:
o All petrochemical grades
o Carbon steels including German and US Grades
o Stainless Steels - Austinitic and Marstinitic
o Nickel Alloys including Inconel, Hastelloy and Monel
o Duplex and Super Duplex
o Titanium
o Brasses and Bronzes
Good working knowledge of sub-contracted services including:
o Machining
o Grinding
o Heat Treatment
o Testing
o Coating and finishes
Good working knowledge of in-house testing services including:
o PMI
o Hardness Testing
o Engraving
o Visual and dimensional inspections
Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes including:
o Saws
o Capstans
o CNC Lathes
o Vertical Machining Centres
o Thread Rolling
o Hot Forging
o Grinding
o Press Work
o Tooling
o Gauges
o Inspection
Good understanding of company core stock including all material grades and products and to accurately cost to supply:
o Studding and Studbolts
o Nuts (all grades)
o Headed Products (hex and socket)
o Finished Assemblies (all coatings)
o Washer
o Thread Rolling Bar and % Rolling Costs
Preferred Requirements
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software
