We have a vacancy for a

Technical Estimator

to join our Technical & Commercial team at our manufacturing facility in Rotherham. The Technical Estimator is an integral role of the Technical & Commercial Team, primarily responsible for costing Orkot wear rings, bearings and other products, preparing quotations and responding to customers enquiries and RFQ s (requests for quotations).



This position is 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexi time is available).


What be you'll doing?





In this role, you will be involved in :


Providing accurate costing of Orkot wear rings, bearings and other products Preparing quotations for customers Responding to customer enquiries and RFQs promptly Interpreting technical drawings and customer requirements Gathering information from our production team, purchasing team, product management teams, engineering and quality departments for inputting into costing models Liaising with our planning department to determine accurate lead times for our products and priorities Developing, maintaining and continuously improving costing tools Provide support to trade compliance activities

What we need from you:





To be successful in this role you will:


hold a degree or vocational qualification in a technical discipline; or demonstrate technical competence through time served. have a minimum of 2 years' work experience in a relevant position, preferably in a manufacturing setting. possess experience in technical / engineering drawings. possess experience in product costing and/or customer services. have knowledge of industrial sectors relevant to Orkot, including marine, industrial, energy (wind, hydro, oil & gas), automotive and aerospace, would be an advantage

Strong understanding of technical drawings, geometry, dimensions, tolerances etc. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining Good math's skills ; product costing / estimating Conversant IT skills ; costing tools, spreadsheets, ERP systems, and email. Excellent attention to detail Commercial approach and aptitude. Strong organisational skills. The ability to multi-task and work under a pressurized environment. Comfortable and competent at working to tight deadlines Excellent communication skills - verbal and written Effective interpersonal and teamworking skills Has a strong work ethos, and a positive attitude, with a willingness to learn. Hardworking and reliable Team-oriented ; demonstrates a collaborative spirit Customer-focused, with a desire to attain high standards of customer service delivery. Self-motivated and able to work independently, accurately and efficiently with minimum supervision Demonstrate commitment to the company values of customer focus, innovation, responsibility and performance Although not essential, it is desirable that you have previous experience with composites and bearings.

A salary of 29k to 31k, dependent upon experience. A non-contractual discretionary bonus paid quarterly (subject to criteria such as attendance and on-time delivery).*
