We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager to join an expanding organic food company in Devon.
The ideal candidate will have a great attitude with excellent administrative, communication skills, attention to detail, with internal auditing and risk assessment experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
Must have experience of leading up BRC audits, customer audits and the HACCP team.
Maintaining a filing system that complies with BRC audit requirements;
Must be competent with any technical enquiries, customer complaints, non-conformance reports and root cause analysis;
Managing and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers and dealing with any technical queries raised.
Must hold a minimum of level 4 in Food safety for manufacturing, Level 3 or higher in HACCP and preferably auditing qualifications.
Experience in completing both the companies own product specifications and customer specifications.
Must be able to originate packaging information to include ingredients listing, nutritional and allergen information.
Good knowledge of quality systems and microbiological quality standards for food is essential.
Must be able to competently carry out internal audits on the company's quality systems.
Knowledge of Organic Food Manufacturing would be an advantage.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a similar role preferred IE (BRC implementation and Soil Association accreditation.
Minimum Level 4 Food Safety for manufacturing and Level 3 or above HACCP Certification;
Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines;
Excellent IT skills including, Word, Excel and email;
Good English and numerical skills;
Strong organisational and decision-making skills;
A positive, confident and proactive approach;
Ability to use own initiative.
Good communication skills
A good sense of humour :)
