Technical Architect - Networks

:

We seek a skilled and experienced Technical Architect - Networks to join our team to set up a greenfield mine in the Republic of Guinea. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the network architecture complies with requirements and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and architecting the network infrastructure for the greenfield mine, with a focus on Cisco WAN, LAN, and Telephony technologies.
• Applying deep design, architectural, and assurance skills to develop a robust and efficient network architecture.
• Collaborating with vendors to drive proper design implementation and ensure adherence to architectural guidelines and standards.
• Leading the implementation of the new networking architecture, which involves merging the OT (Operational Technology) and IT (Information Technology) networks on the same physical infrastructure.
• Providing expert guidance and technical oversight throughout the network implementation process.
• Occasionally visiting Guinea to oversee project progress and liaise with stakeholders, although the role will not involve hands-on work.
• Having a strong understanding of networking architecture to guide the successful integration of OT and IT networks.
• Utilising mining industry knowledge and greenfield mine setup (nice-to-have) to align network requirements with specific mining needs.
• Fluent in English, with French language skills being beneficial for effective communication.

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Technical Architect with a specialisation in network design and architecture.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco WAN, LAN, and Telephony technologies.
• Strong expertise in driving vendors to implement proper network designs and ensuring compliance with architectural standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with project managers and vendors.
• Familiarity with merging OT and IT networks on the same physical infrastructure.
• Understanding of mining industry requirements and experience with greenfield mine setups (nice-to-have).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English. French language skills are beneficial.
