Job Purpose:
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our
Equipment and Adaptations Service
which helps support and enhance the lives of people looking to maintain as independent a lifestyle as possible as they continue living safely in their own home. Equipment and Adaptations are provided to meet individual assessed needs and situations.
We want an empathetic person with a good knowledge of building structures, specifications, materials and prices. You need to be experienced in CAD drawing and use of a drawing board to be able to produce detailed layouts and working plans to illustrate existing floor plans and proposed adaptations. You will be expected to complete all necessary grant paperwork including means test information to determine eligibility for funding. You will develop a close working relationship with the Community Occupational Therapy Team, providing them with construction and design advice regarding the adaptation of residential homes.
You will need to understand the requirements of GDPR and restrictions it places upon staff regarding record keeping. You will have a passion and desire for providing high quality, customer-focused services and will be willing to build on your skills and experiences to help us continuously improve.

Key Responsibilities:
To measure up, design and prepare working plans for adapting clients' properties, submitting planning and building regulation applications where appropriate.
To complete Disabled Facilities Grant paperwork with clients and applying for landlord permission where necessary.
To prepare specifications of work and request quotations for building works and materials.
To answer all queries in a polite, professional and helpful manner, ensuring that clients and colleagues have a clear understanding of all proposed layouts and processes.
