Technical Product Manager



Summary



We are seeking an experienced and process-driven Technical Product Manager (TPM) to play a crucial role in orchestrating the activities of our Product Owners and Engineering teams. You will be the central point for ensuring our Agile development processes run smoothly, efficiently, and are aligned with our strategic product vision within the complex regulatory environment of financial advice. Your primary focus will be on optimising the flow of work, facilitating collaboration, removing impediments, and ensuring predictable delivery across multiple product streams.

Key Responsibilities:



Agile Process Leadership & Optimisation:



Oversee, champion, and continuously improve our Agile methodologies, driving their use by our product development teams (Product Owners & Engineers). Facilitate key Agile ceremonies where necessary, ensuring they are effective and achieve their objectives (stand-ups, backlog maintenance, sprint planning and retrospectives). Establish and monitor key Agile metrics such as velocity, cycle time and planning accuracy, identifying bottlenecks and drive process improvements. Ensure adherence to Agile best practices and principles across all teams.

Cross-Team Coordination & Alignment:



Act as the key liaison between multiple Product Owners and their respective Engineering teams to ensure cohesive product development efforts. Facilitate the breakdown of larger strategic initiatives into manageable features and epics for individual Product Owners. Work with Product Owners to ensure alignment and manage dependencies between different product backlogs and development streams. Coordinate release planning and scheduling across teams, ensuring requirement readiness, technical readiness and alignment with business timelines.

Technical Oversight & Enablement:



Maintain a strong understanding of the underlying technology stack, architecture, and technical constraints relevant to our platforms. Collaborate closely with Engineering to understand technical requirements, assess feasibility, and identify technical risks or dependencies. Ensure technical requirements and non-functional requirements such as performance, security and scalability are considered during planning and prioritisation. Facilitate technical discussions to resolve cross-team architectural or implementation challenges.

Blockage Removal & Risk Management:



Proactively identify, track, and facilitate the removal of progress blockers for Product Owners or Engineering teams. Manage cross-functional dependencies involving infrastructure, security, compliance, or other internal/external teams. Communicate risks and progress related to development execution clearly to stakeholders, including product leadership and business units.

Stakeholder Communication:



Provide visibility into the consolidated development pipeline, progress, and potential roadblocks to senior management and key business stakeholders. Work with Product Owners to ensure a clear and consistent communication strategy regarding feature delivery and timelines.

Required Qualifications:



Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience. Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a Product Management, or Technical Program Management within a software development environment. Deep, hands-on experience implementing and managing Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban essential; SAFe or other scaling frameworks a plus). Demonstrable experience coordinating work across multiple software development teams, Product Owners, and Engineers. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, technical architecture concepts (e.g., APIs, microservices, cloud platforms). Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams and stakeholders. Experience working within a regulated industry, with an understanding of their unique demands (e.g., security, regulation, data privacy). Proficiency with Agile project management tools.

Nice to Haves:



Experience working specifically within a financial advisory or wealth management technology context. Experience managing products with complex data requirements or integrations. Experience defining and tracking technical product metrics.
