We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and professional individual to the new role of
Technical Production Manager
, to lead the technical delivery of our wide range of live music events at our venue on Argyle Street, Birkenhead.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Future Yard's PA, lighting + AV systems, backline and technical infrastructure, arranging and undertaking maintenance and development as required.
Your primary discipline will be as a sound engineer, but you will also have oversight of all technical aspects of the venue, including live lighting and AV.
You will line manage our team of technicians, event managers and box office staff who work at the venue, ensuring we have a well-supported team in place for all our events. This includes managing a rota to ensure events are staffed appropriately, consistent with agreed budgets and operating patterns.
You will also oversee and support team members, ensuring Future Yard's studio spaces and technical systems around the venue are maintained and in good working order. You will be a part of the advancing process for our events, providing technical input and expertise as required.
This is a unique opportunity to join the team at one of the UK's most exciting new music organisations. Since fully opening in the summer of 2021, we have played host to artists such as Nadine Shah, Anna Calvi, Gruff Rhys, OMD, Doves, Black Country New Road, Everything Everything, English Teacher, The Zutons, Nubiyan Twist, Shame, Melt Yourself Down, Dry Cleaning, The Coral, Bodega and many more, with a programme encompassing the best in contemporary alternative, jazz, electronic and experimental music.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about technical production and has
at least three years professional experience as a live sound engineer
.
We are particularly looking for an individual who shares Future Yard's values and is/has:
A robust knowledge and experience of the workings of a grassroots live music venue
Experience of live lighting within a live music venue - or a strong desire to expand your skills in this area
An appetite to share your knowledge with young people, as part of Future Yard's training programmes
Great team working skills, flexibility and an appetite to continually develop
Excellent communication skills
Ideally you will have experience of managing a small team (though this is not essential, an appetite to do so is!)
A valid driving licence and access to a car would be desirable, but not essential
You will be a well organised, disciplined self-starter
The post holder will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

The position is available Full Time or on a reduced hours basis (details below). This flexibility is intended to support an ideal candidate who may wish to maintain an interest in work opportunities in the sector, alongside their role at Future Yard. We are equally open to candidates applying via the full time or reduced hours option and have no preference. Our principal motivation is to find the best candidate for the role.
Full Time (40hrs per week), Permanent

- x3 days per week, venue based.
- x2 Event Tech shifts per week. Shifts are predominantly evening and weekend based with occasional day time hours for specific tasks, special events, and daytime programming.

0.8 role, 4 Days p/week (32 hours per week), Permanent
