Technical Services Officer

What You'll Be Responsible For:
You'll play a key part in maintaining and improving our technical services operations -- from lab coordination and complaints management to food safety, documentation, and traceability. You'll work across departments and alongside leading retailers to uphold Cranswick's exceptional standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing complaint investigations and customer responses
Coordinating lab submissions and communicating test results
Performing intake checks on packaging and ingredients
Maintaining traceability records, lab systems, and raw material risk assessments
Updating quality management system (QMS) documents in line with product changes
Preparing data and insights for technical meetings and audits
Ordering and tracking lab consumables and supplies
Supporting NPD launches and site audits through accurate document control
Collaborating with colleagues to drive improvement projects and reduce customer complaints
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking someone who is
organised, detail-focused, and a great communicator
. Whether you're building your technical career or bringing experience into a new role, we'll support you with all the training and tools you need to succeed.
You'll ideally have:
Strong administration and time management skills
Good working knowledge of food safety, quality, and traceability processes
Familiarity with BRC standards, complaint handling, and laboratory coordination (desirable)
Proficiency in MS Excel and comfortable working with data and systems
Experience in a technical role within a food manufacturing or high-risk chilled environment (desirable)
Desirable (but not essential):
Qualifications in HACCP, Food Safety Level 3, IOSH, or auditing
A background in food-related studies or certifications
Passion for compliance, continuous improvement, and customer service
