We're looking for a Technical Training Specialist to support our Electrical and Instrumentation business areas and help shape the future of technical learning across our operations.



This is a hands on, specialist role where you'll design and deliver high-impact training programmes that ensure our colleagues are safe, competent and confident in their roles.


What you'll be doing:

Supporting the development of training programmes for new and existing electrical/instrumentation roles Designing and delivering blended learning solutions mapped to water industry frameworks and regulatory requirements Conducting competence assessments to ensure safe and compliant operational performance Collaborating with Health & Safety partners and subject matter experts to review and enhance training content Supervising and monitoring colleagues during training to ensure safety and performance standards Building training plans that cover both initial and refresher needs across the business Producing lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment criteria for internal programmes Maintaining relationships with accrediting bodies like Energy & Utility Skills Advising on the creation and management of technical Standard Operating Procedures, Asset Care Plans, and Health & Safety procedures Capturing and acting on delegate feedback to continuously improve training delivery

What we're looking for:

Demonstrable experience in electrical and/or instrumentation engineering Time-served or qualified to BTEC, NVQ, HNC or equivalent level Working towards or holding a recognised teaching or assessor qualification Strong knowledge of technical and health & safety requirements across electrical/instrumentation roles Experience developing and assessing technical competence and training content Familiarity with competence frameworks and regulatory standards Excellent communication skills across all levels of experience Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload and business expectations
