About This Temp Head Cook Role

As the

Key Responsibilities - Care Home Head Cook

Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary needs and preferences Oversee the smooth running of the kitchen during your shifts Ensure strict compliance with food hygiene, safety, and allergen regulations Lead and support junior kitchen staff, ensuring consistent, high-quality service Manage stock rotation, orders, and portion control efficiently Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming kitchen environment Communicate effectively with care home management and resident care teams

What We're Looking For - Ideal Candidate Profile

Minimum 4 years' experience working in fresh food kitchens, ideally with leadership or supervisory exposure Level 2 Food Hygiene and Level 2 Allergen Awareness certificates (essential) Previous care sector or nursing home kitchen experience is highly desirable Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and allergen procedures Professional, reliable, and adaptable to changing daily needs Strong communication and people skills DBS checked candidates are preferred (can be processed if required)
