The Role



We are looking for 5 x Painters to join our Damp & Mould team based in Birmingham.



These are temporary roles for an initial 12 weeks.



A van and fuel card will be provided.



Travel around the south Birmingham area will be required.

The Customer



You will be part of one of Fortem's largest Social Housing contracts, Birmingham City Council. This is an expanding 50m Repairs & Maintenance, Capital Works and Retrofit contract and the largest social housing contract in Europe. We are responsible for over 22,500 properties in the Birmingham area including low, medium and a significant number of high-rise blocks. This is a fast paced, focused and dedicated contract which we have been re-awarded 3 times and we are very proud to be able to support this exceptional client.

Duties and Responsibilities



Painter responsibilities will include:


Perform general painting and decorating work to a high standard, ensuring minimal supervision is required. Take ownership of assigned tasks, completing them within set budget and time constraints whilst maintaining excellent craftsmanship. Operate in strict compliance with company Health and Safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. Evaluate surfaces for necessary repairs or treatments and execute appropriate preparation steps to ensure durable, high-quality finishes. Liaise professionally with tenants, team members, and supervisors to ensure clear understanding of requirements and minimise disruption during maintenance.

What You Will Need



Essential criteria:


Painting / decorating experience
Desirable


Experience working in the social housing sector Experience working on damp and mould properties
