Job Introduction

A rewarding opportunity for a Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our Housing Solutions Service


You'll work as part of a team providing support and assistance to people and families facing homelessness and provide day-to-day management of temporary accommodation.


You'll also assist people to prepare to move on to settled housing and ensure that leaving clients are initially supported in their new homes with a signpost package that will lead to increased tenancy sustainment.

This role is a site based role.

Role Responsibilities

Working alongside our colleagues in the Temporary Accommodation Team, you'll deliver a high quality, responsive and customer focused housing management and lettings service for those facing homelessness homeless living in temporary accommodation, ensuring all homes are well managed, maintained in a safe and habitable condition, and meet all statutory requirements. You will be allocating temporary accommodation and supporting residents of temporary accommodation to sustain their accommodation.




Ideal Candidate

You don't need experience across all aspects of the job as that will form part of your continuous personal development, but you will need experience of managing temporary accommodation, supported housing or social rented housing, as this is central to the role.


You'll need to be adaptable in your approach to working with people ensuring support guidance and information is shared together with a robust approach in licence management that may involve enforcement action.


You'll have previous experience of using excellent communication skills to support a wide range of people who may present with complex and challenging behaviour, and you will need to be able to use empathy to support customers in a sensitive and appropriate manner. It will be necessary to manage process' smoothly whilst being able use your own initiative.


You'll work effectively in a multi-agency framework to meet the needs of customers, and you will need to be able to work well under pressure to meet targets and deadlines.


Should you be offered the role, as part of the pre-employment checks a Basic DBS will be actioned for you and BPSS referencing.


For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation the candidate will not be appointable.

Our roles are either designated 'site based' or 'home based'. 'Site based' roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst 'home based' roles are based at home four days a week.
