Stepping Stones NI is a multi-award winning charitable organisation supporting people with learning disabilities and barriers to learning and employment to gain new skills, qualifications and employment. Our organisation is comprised of four core services: employment, training, youth and community youth engagement. We also operate six social enterprises which include three cafes, a wedding stationery business, a picture framing business and a horticultural wellbeing hub.

We are recruiting for temporary experienced Cook to join the team at our Courtyard Cafe in Lisburn, initially for a period of 4 weeks. As well as working in a busy cafe the successful candidate will work with the rest of the staff team in supporting our learning disability clients.

Requirements for the job

Essential

1. A can-do attitude and positive approach to work and ability to work in a team.

2. Ability to work on own initiative.

3. NVQ Level 2 Catering and Hospitality or equivalent eg City and Guilds.

4. Essential Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 .

5. Sound knowledge of Health and safety Procedures including COSHH and HACCP.

Desirable

1. Intermediate food Hygiene Certificate or willing to work towards same.

2. Sound knowledge and experience of catering for customers with different dietary requirements.

3. Experience of working with adults with a Learning Disability

Job Type: Full-time Temporary

Pay: 13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday
