Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health of the organisation and requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in accounting software.

Responsibilities

Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger to ensure timely payments from clients. Prepare and send out invoices and statements to clients. Follow up on overdue accounts through emails, phone calls, and correspondence. Negotiate payment plans with clients when necessary to facilitate debt recovery. Maintain accurate records of all communications with clients regarding their accounts. Collaborate with the accounts payable team to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payments. Generate reports on aged debtors and provide insights to management regarding collection activities.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role is essential. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero is highly desirable. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices related to accounts payable and receivable. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with clients. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution is essential.
