Voltempo is developing Hyper Rapid DC charging solutions for a range of commercial vehicle sectors, initially here in the UK, but progressively, as the transport sector electrifies, internationally. The company holds several international patents, it is engaged in the end-to-end design, supply, site commissioning and servicing of charging solutions, targeting commercial vehicles. The business is currently scaling and is well supported by both its international shareholders and its role under the UK Govt eFreight programme, where it is leading a consortium of UK logistics fleet operators to deploy the UK first eHGVs charging network.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Test Automation Engineer

to join our quality assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks to ensure the high quality and performance of our products. You will work closely with developers and product teams to identify

The ideal candidate will have experience in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) development, software engineering, and database integration for manufacturing and production testing.

Responsibilities

Design and develop automated test systems for production and R&D environments.

Create and maintain test software using VB.NET, C#, and Visual Studio.

Integrate Microsoft SQL databases for test data storage, manufacturing tracking, and system configuration.

Develop modular and scalable test suites to support multiple product lines, ensuring flexibility for future expansions.

Define test procedures for electronic subassemblies, ensuring smooth integration into manufacturing workflows.

Maintain and support test systems, providing troubleshooting and technical support.

Collaborate with hardware, R&D, and production teams to develop and refine testing methodologies.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and testing protocols where applicable.

Required Qualifications & Experience

5+ years of experience in ATE software development for manufacturing and system integration.

Expertise in Python, VB.NET, C#, and SQL database management.

Experience in hardware-software integration, including driver/API compatibility with test equipment.

Familiarity with system test automation, data acquisition systems, and test result analysis.

Hands-on experience with PCB and final product testing.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimize test processes for efficiency and reliability.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and ERP integration.

Background in charging systems, automotive, and telecommunications test environments.

Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, or similar test automation tools.

Experience in remote diagnostics and field testing.

Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
