FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Test Manager to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Warrington.
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Test Manager to lead the testing function, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensure delivery of high-quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to drive test traceability, maintain strong client relationships, as well as oversee both onshore and offshore teams which will be critical. You will also be relationship-driven, diplomatic, and have a pragmatic and focused approach on delivering outcomes.
Responsibilities
Own and lead the Test Strategy and Test Plan for the programme
Manage and support a test team comprising of; 1 Test Lead (FTE) and 4 Manual Testers (2 FTEs and 2 offshore)
Oversee supplier build testing and organisations functional testing activities
Drive test traceability practices across all test phases to meet department standards
Act as the primary interface with stakeholders across departments, ensuring expectations are understood, managed, and met
Provide visible leadership by being onsite to build and maintain strong working relationships
Support the department's transformation journey from programme delivery to product-based delivery
Ensure effective defect, risk, and issue management to ensure defects are prioritised and resolved
Report progress, risks, and quality metrics at programme level to stakeholders while providing recommendations for improvement
About You

Requirements
Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Test Manager in large-scale transformation or programme environments
Strong background in test traceability, Transformational environments, quality assurance governance, end client programme experience and structured testing practices
Demonstrable success in stakeholder management and building client relationships
Experience in working with end-client programmes and influencing at programme/portfolio level
Skilled in managing mixed test teams (onshore and offshore)
Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to deliver under pressure
Resilient with strong problem-solving skills
Exposure to a collaborative leadership style with a focus on team development and stakeholder engagement
Desirable
Previous experience in public sector or justice-related programmes
Familiarity with supplier/vendor testing models
Experience in environments without heavy technical/tooling focus (manual test-driven) with knowledge of transitioning programmes into product-oriented operating models
