Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef to manage The Pickled Peacock kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food safety and culinary practices, along with experience in working solo in kitchens and working within a team. The candidate will work full-time over 5 days at The Pickled Peacock, as well as having the opportunity to work collaborate with our chef of our sister venue The Cart Shed Tearoom.

This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of our food preparation processes while maintaining high standards of hospitality and service.

Responsibilities



Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Supervise and manage kitchen operations, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance. Assist in food preparation, ensuring quality and presentation meet our standards. Collaborate with team members to create a positive working environment that fosters teamwork and leadership. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations. Implement training programmes for new staff on food safety practices and culinary techniques. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications



Proven experience in a culinary or hospitality role, preferably within a restaurant, cafe or tearoom setting. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage a team effectively. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Proficient in food preparation techniques with a passion for culinary excellence. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 15.00-16.00 per hour
