Leeways is a British, family-owned manufacturing company that specialises in thermoformed packaging solutions for the food industry. From our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Churcham and Cinderford we supply all the major supermarkets and top food brands in the UK and Ireland.

Job Type:

Full-time, permanent

Salary:

Starting at 32,220 per annum, which will rise in increments to 39,874 per annum, after successful completion of three levels of training, at a speed to suit the individual. An additional 1.00 / hour is paid for night shift hours.

Schedule:

12-hour shifts, working both days and nights, 0600 to 1800 / 1800 to 0600 Monday to Thursday Overtime available

The role:

We are looking for two enthusiastic individuals to join our technical team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Cinderford. Reporting to the Shift Manager, the Thermoforming Technician is responsible for the efficient setup and consistent running of our thermoforming machines, ensuring our Machine Operatives are packing the highest quality product for our customers.

Production / process:

Ensure highest priority machines are attended to, in line with the Production Schedule. Ensure tool changes are conducted in a timely manner and to a high standard. Ensure tool maintenance is being conducted in a timely manner and to a high standard, further ensuring tooling is stored safely and securely and is well labelled and catalogued. Ensure good communication lines are in place with management, relevant to the task in hand. Report machine / tooling faults to the relevant persons (Maintenance Engineer / Tool Room Supervisor). Actively participate in Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) of the machines and equipment. Ensure the machines are kept clean, tidy, and presentable always. Work with the Maintenance Engineer / Tool Room Supervisor to ensure all temporary engineering is permanently resolved. Sign-off Production Start-Up Sheets and First Off Inspections. Conduct routine quality checks, ensuring standards are being met and maintained. Seek ways to continually improve processes and procedures. Complete various pieces of documentation to ensure compliance and traceability.

Meetings

Attend and contribute to Daily Huddles. Attend and contribute to 1-2-1s with the Shift Manager. . Attend and contribute to Team-2-1s with various teams.

Health & Safety

Adopt a zero-tolerance approach to Health & Safety non-compliance. Ensure a good level of Health & Safety knowledge by means of research and regular reviews of the HSE website. Seek ways to continually improve processes and procedures. Lead / support investigations. Drive actions and outcomes. Complete various pieces of documentation to ensure compliance and traceability.
