Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in laying tiles for various surfaces, including floors, walls, and countertops. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to read and interpret schematics. The Tile Setter will be responsible for ensuring that all installations are completed to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

Measure and cut tiles to fit specific areas, ensuring precise dimensions. Prepare surfaces for tiling by cleaning, levelling, and applying necessary adhesives. Lay tiles in accordance with design specifications, ensuring proper alignment and spacing. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installations. Apply grout and sealant to finished tile work to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal. Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and painters, to ensure cohesive project completion. Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the duration of projects. Troubleshoot any issues that arise during installation and make necessary adjustments.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Tile Setter or similar role in the construction industry. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to tile installation. Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A background in carpentry is advantageous but not essential. Good physical fitness is required as the role involves lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
